Debt for supplied food products
A buyer accepted food products under several contracts but did not pay RUB 1,156,400.20. The supplier relied on the contracts, delivery notes and reconciliation records; the buyer alleged partial payment but produced no proof. The court awarded the principal in full, added RUB 98,910.58 in interest and RUB 27,583 in costs, while adjusting the interest calculation under the law then in force.
Commercial lease debt settlement
A foreign landlord claimed RUB 3.81 million in rent, utilities and contractual penalties. During the case, the parties agreed that the tenant would pay RUB 2,877,832.15, including part of the court fee, within 30 days after court approval; the landlord waived the remaining claims, including penalties. They also agreed on termination of the lease and confirmed return of the premises. The court approved the settlement and closed the case.
Freight forwarder liability for cargo shortage
The forwarder received a sealed container containing 621 packages. On arrival the original seal was missing, and a count showed a shortage of 12 packages. The claimant relied on the forwarding contract, cargo records and the missing-seal and tally reports to prove loss and value. The court held that using subcontractors did not release the forwarder from its duty to the customer and awarded damages; the appeal was dismissed.
Debt for heat-meter servicing
An energy-services company sought RUB 421,960 for maintaining heat meters and automatic heat-control systems. The customer had not signed some service certificates but did not make reasoned objections or prove that the services were not performed or paid. The court accepted the services, including those confirmed by unilateral certificates, and rejected the argument that the customer did not manage the building. The full principal and RUB 13,387 in court costs were awarded.
